We will be rough but within the laws - Western Region Police

WE WILL BE ROUGH BUT WITHN THE LAWS. W/R POLICE

The Western Regional Police Command has given the strongest indication ever of their preparedness towards the December 7 elections.

Western Regional Police Commander DCOP Akuriba Yaagy says the Police will be rough and tough but will act within the laws of the land.

“We are going to be tough and rough but within the laws. So toughness and robustness but within the laws” He warned in an interview with Francis Whajah.

His comments follow the release of some flash points by the Electoral Commission.

The Western Region has 26 constituencies, 2,940 polling centers, 477 flashpoints and 173 overseas areas but Mr Yaagy is warning miscreants not to take advantage of the flashpoints and misbehave as they have sufficient men for these flashpoints.

“We have sufficient men that we have zoned, and when the day of the elections comes, we will deploy all of them. Where there are flashpoints that we perceive, we would put at least two men but they would be within the range of standby men in the districts and stations who would respond to that. I can assure you that we are going to be rough and tough” He stressed.

He quickly added that peace is a collaborative effort and wants all citizens to help Police in maintaining peace during and after the elections.

Ghana goes to the polls on December 7 to elect 275 parliamentarians and a president.
