Innolink Ghana denies NPP's claim of attempt to compromise electoral process

 With 12 days for Ghanaians to decide who leads them in the next four years, the news media on Thursday, 24th November, 2016 were dominated by the following:


The Daily Graphic, the Ghanaian Times, and the Daily Guide newspapers carried the story “Innolink Ghana denies NPP’s claim of attempt to compromise electoral process” and “Innolink Clears Air Over Ballot Papers” respectively.  According to the Graphic, Innolink Ghana Limited, the Company contracted by the Electoral Commission (EC) to print electoral materials for the December 7, 2016 polls (in Ghana), has denied the allegation by the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) that it had given out a presidential ballot plate to a private individual to be taken out of the premises of the printing house. According to the Company, the allegations by the NPP were false and not based on any factual evidence. The NPP earlier claimed that it had uncovered what it described as a grand scheme by the EC to rig this year’s elections using the printing companies, with specific reference to Innolink Ghana.

According to the Chronicle and the Daily Guide stories “3 Polls Tip Nana for Victory”, new opinion polls conducted by three different bodies tip the New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential candidate, Nana  Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to win the December 7 presidential elections in the first round. According to the polls conducted by the GN Research, 51 percent of Ghanaians are confident that the flag bearer of the NPP is the best candidate to address unemployment, health and educational issues in the country when voted as president.

The Daily Graphic also carried the headline “Ward-Brew dismissed in attempt to stop Dec 7 polls”. According to the story, the dream of the flag bearer of the Democratic People’s Party (DPP), Mr Thomas Nuako Ward-Brew to participate in this year’s presidential election was shattered by the Supreme Court yesterday. In a unanimous decision, the court dismissed his prayer for an extension of the date for the submission of nomination froms and the subsequent suspension of the December 7, 2016 polls.

In the Daily Post headline “Bombshell!!! Akufo-Addo was a PNDC spy, the brain behind the imprisonment of Kwame Pianin and the detention of J.A Kufuor, Kwadwo Mpiani, J.H Mensa & others”. According to the story, that the evil that men do lives after them is coming true in the life of the flagbearer of the NPP, Nana Akufo-Addo as new information that has emerged indicates that he was a spy for the PNDC during the heady days of the revolution and the brain behind the incarceration of Mr Kwame Mpianim as well as the arrest and detention of persons like J.A. Kufuor, Kwadwo Mpiani, J.H Mensah, G.K. Osei Bonsu and many others under the PNDC.
