Media Institutions Must Go Beyond Blackout

The Publishers Association of Liberia, in collaboration with managers of some electronic media institutions, has decided to indefinitely distance itself from Mr. Simeon Freeman, the Standard Bearer of the opposition Movement for Progressive Change for raining insults on the office of the President.

The PAL has also vented anger on the Ministry of Information for its continuous attacks on individuals who express dissenting views about the government and its policies. MICAT has been put on record for
referring to opposition politicians as dogs and vowing to do gutter politics with them.

PAL’s action against the MPC and MICAT is very right; especially where the behaviors of the two institutions are being exhibited at the time the general and presidential elections in the country is around the corner. An Informer Editorial
