Pul Refusal To Condemn Weah̢۪s Vicious Act Against Journalist Boimah J. V. Boimah Is Worrisome
Wednesday 21st September 2011
Since the declaration of political campaign activities by the National Elections Commission there have been  a never-ending attacks on Liberian journalist while executing their reportorial duties by supporters and partisans of the main opposition Congress for Democratic Change.

These routine actions of attacking journalists now a way forward by CDCians suggests to deterring journalist from reporting on the party’s negative vices in these electioneering periods that may have the propensity to undermine Liberia’s good democratic principles.

Though the party has openly condemned the negative action meted against the Liberian journalist on the parts of their partisans, pundits are of the view that said action is not enough especially with the acts continuously being repeated.

Many pundits expected the National Committee of the CDC to have done enough sensitization for its partisans to desist from harassing and intimidating journalists.

But what is most disturbing to us is the refusal of the Press Union of Liberia to comment on the psychological torture of our media colleague, comrade Boimah J.V. Boimah.

We believe that these inhumane actions on the part of the CDC and its vice standard bearer, Amb. Weah are tantamount to undermining the gains scored in ensuring Freedom of the press where journalists can exercise their reportorial duties without intimidation.
