Effective Representation At The Polls
Monday 10th October 2011
Tomorrow being Election Day, Liberians throughout the country will wind their way to polling stations
they were registered to cast their votes for the election of the president, vice president and legislators
of their choice.
We praise God for over the three months of peaceful campaigning, and pray most especially that He
will grant peaceful, free, fair and transparent elections tomorrow.
There are 16 candidates contesting the presidency and hundreds of candidates seeking election to the
House of Representatives and Senate. The National Elections has done a great deal of work in
preparation for the election and most observers, including local and international non-governmental organizations and diplomatic missions near this capital, have indicated their conviction that NEC
is indeed ready.
There is one salient message which we at the Daily Observer have been sending out for many weeks
now. The purpose of this message is to ensure that the elections are peaceful, free, fair transparent
and credible.
