Liberians yesterday turned up en masse and participated in their country’s second post war presidential and legislative elections.

Despite a heavy downpour of rain during the early hours, the citizens began to queue as early as 2am at most of the over 4,000 voting precincts across Liberia.

Though, they literally belong to distinct political ideologies, Liberians in possession of valid voters registration cards were seen sharing jokes and peacefully awaiting their individuals turn out to exercise their constitutional franchise.

Even international observers currently in the country could not believe that Liberians were exhibiting a great deal of political maturity.

In keeping with international best practice, 4,383 local observers, 68 local organizations as well as local and international journalist observed and covered the historic event.
