Inviting Catastrophe

The Congress for Democratic Change yesterday announced that it would boycott the run-off presidential election scheduled for November 8, 2011.

At a press conference attended by CDC vice standard bearer George Weah but not only by its standard bearer, Cllr. Winston Tubman, the CDC issued a statement accusing the Chairman of NEC, James Fromayan, and other NEC Commissioner of being “pro-Unity Party.”

The statement, read by CDC Secretary General Acarous Gray, accused NEC as being “biased, reckless and unruly in its actions and utterances against the Congress for Democratic Change.

We recall this is exactly what some politicians have been aiming for. They have been aiming for what they call an interim government. The world knows exactly what that would lead to politicians would jockey for positions around the interim table not for anything else but to “eat” or to divide the country scarce resource amongst themselves.
