Liberia: Opposition Liberty Party Launches Campaign Tomorrow

The opposition Liberty party, will tomorrow Saturday, 24th September, 2011, launch its political rally at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium in Montserrado County, party representatives announced on Thursday.

 The rally which has been approved by the Liberia National Police in line with the Code of Conduct signed between the LNP and political parties will be preceded with a march through the streets of Monrovia.

The Assistant Secretary General of the party, Emmanuel Azango, disclosed that, the campaign launch will “lock Monrovia down”. He further said the campaign launch will attract masses, emphasizing that “the turnout is going to be huge.” He is quoted as saying ‘’on Saturday, the world and the nation are going to witness that the support of Liberty Party does not only rely within the Bassa belt and Bong County. The turnout on Saturday will be 100% supporters of the party’’.

According to the LP release, the relevant authorities, including the National Elections Commission and the Ministry of Justice have been informed about the launch.
